Did a KOL call actually move the price? How to check
A big account posts a coin and it pumps. Did the post cause it, or did the account post a coin that was already moving? It matters, because "this caller moves coins" is a reason people follow callers, and it is often wrong.
The two-hour reaction
Whodl reads posts about a coin from accounts with large followings and lines each one up against the price. For each post it records how the price moved in the two hours after it: the highest point, the lowest, and where it ended. A coin page then says, for example, that a large account posted and the price climbed as much as some percentage over the next two hours, or did not move.
How to tell cause from coincidence
- Was the price already moving? Compare the hour before the post with the hours after. A post into an existing run is commentary.
- Did holders grow? A call that brings buyers adds holders in the next hour. A call that only moves price, with flat holder growth, is often bots or a few wallets.
- Who bought first? If wallets linked to the caller, or a cluster of fresh wallets, bought minutes before the post, the post was the exit plan. See how to trace where a wallet's SOL came from.
- Did several accounts post the same words? Whodl counts copy-paste posts as one voice. A dozen identical posts are one campaign, not a dozen calls.
Caller receipts
Whodl keeps a record of what happened to coins that each account posted about. Ask the bot "how did @name's calls do?" on X and it replies with that account's receipts from the coins Whodl has scanned.
What the averages say
Across scanned coins, Whodl compares how fast posts are growing with how fast holders are growing. The mention spike vs holder growth guide shows how coins with posts far ahead of buyers moved over the next day, across not enough data yet coins with that reading.
The short version
One post rarely moves a coin on its own; it moves a coin when buyers follow. The two-hour reaction plus holder growth tells you whether they did. Each coin page under coin reports shows the big-account posts, their price reactions and the Hype Gap.
